4.0 Release Event Website
November 28, 2007
Hey everyone. We finally have a website up to discuss the release event due to the efforts of Ruphy, Sebas, Cornelius and others. A departure from our typical sites, don’t you agree? Is it the wrapping being slowly torn away from the anticipated 4.0 release? Is it the rising KDE sun in Mountain View? Only you can decide. The only thing for certain is that Sebas and others might be a little grumpy with me for the surprise site announcement (with small items like ‘KDE 4’ -> ‘KDE 4.0’ still to be tweaked).
I do in fact have more content and details on the Release Event in Mountain View for those interested in learning more about travel, lodging and itinerary. After some discussions with Google staff I’ll be updating the site this weekend (with help from people like Sebas that have SVN access). Expect a Dot story on the topic with an updated site. This information will also be emailed to all confirmed attendees.
Soon afterward, this site will also hold information about other great release events being planned around the globe/marble. The clock is ticking, so to speak. Only seven weeks until the event, can you believe it? If you still want to attend, just let me know. Do it. DO IT! Attendees should remember that they have been automatically booked for hotel the evenings of the 17th and 18th, unless otherwise noted (like local guests). Those that still need help with Visas, contact me immediately.
